Marianne Arling

marianne arlingMarianne Arling has been the Program Director for the John Corcoran Foundation since 2001. She coordinates programs in Colorado and California which provide tutoring for over 2000 students. She has trained and supervised over 300 tutors. She worked for eight years as Coordinator of the Pueblo Community College Community Based Reading Project, an outreach program which provided tutorial assistance for hundreds of students with remedial reading needs in scores of schools in Pueblo and Fremont counties. She was also coordinator of the AmeriCorps program sponsored by PCC, and trained AmeriCorps tutors to work as remedial reading instructors in Pueblo schools. Marianne has a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College with a major in English Literature, and a master’s degree in Special Education from UCCS. She taught for over ten years in public schools as a special education teacher. She has been certified as a Multisensory Reading Specialist by the Colorado Department of Special Education after completing a two-year program which focused on the use of Lindamood Bell and Orton Gillingham strategies for instruction in remedial reading. She is a certified PhonoGraphix trainer. Marianne has been married for 29 years to David, they have three grown children, and enjoy working together in church and family programs.

Lisa Cadwallader

lisa cadawalladerLisa Cadwallader received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication from Regis University and her Masters in Special Education from University of Northern Colorado. She has a Colorado Elementary Education License and received a Special Education Generalist Endorsement. She is currently a Special Education Teacher for grades K-6 and has been a Reading Intervention Teacher, Phono-Graphix Private tutor, Read to Achieve tutor and Success for All tutor. As a Reading Tutor and Lead Teacher for John Corcoran Foundation for over six years, Lisa has changed the lives of hundreds of students. Lisa is married and lives in Denver with her husband Rich and their dog Barley, and they enjoy being active in community theatre productions.

Janice Pool

janice poolJan Pool received her Bachelors in Education from University of Louisiana and her Masters in Education from University of Denver. For the past six years she has been trained in Phono-graphix, Linguistic Remedies for Reading Disabilities, Teaching Beginning Reading, and visual processing needs for struggling readers. Jan worked in the classroom for over 26 years and in 2001 she helped develop and implement COVA/K12 (Colorado Virtual Academy) and became the designer and leader for COVA’s reading team. Along with working as a Literacy Coach and Tutor-Trainer for the John Corcoran Foundation, Jan works for Summer Scholars as a consultant and coach for Lexia reading software, which is also used by the Foundation. Jan has been married to Charles for over 25 years. They have two grown daughters and live in a suburb outside Denver where Jan is active in bible studies.
